In the plane we looked out the window and saw the whole range we would be hiking. The flight only took 20 minutes, but walking through the mountains and jungles would take us 8 days. Puts it into perspective. After arriving in Popendetta from Port Moresby, we piled into a PMV (Public Motor Vehicle) with all our packs and drove the muddy, rutty path to Buna (not without getting bogged a few times)
