We paddled along the estuary and watched the local kids clamber up coconut trees that towered sideways over the waters edge, just to jump into the water. Their brown little naked bodies jumping in succession and screaming with delight. As we passed by them they started running to the riverdock to see the strange white folks entering their sanctuary.

Again the sounds of Kundu drums rang out a welcome that we were not at all expecting. The kids encircled us as the sounds of ancient music and verse filled the air.
