Thailand has a huge problem with illegal logging and burning. Lek had her land raped from time to time, of some of it's beautiful trees. So she took inititive and got monks to help out her plight, by ordaining orange cloth bands which she used to wrap around the trees. Buddhism is so strong here, that to cut down a sacred tree would be an act of sacrelige. So far it had saved many a tree.

I wish there was something like this in Canada.

We could tie used sweaty NHL jerseys on the trees and animals and say they've been ordained by athletes. It would take one sacrilegious mofo to mess with that in this country.
